Alumni Wrestler Jim Alexander '69 to be Recognized as 2017 Honored Alumni

GREELEY, Colo. – Once again, a UNC alumni wrestler is making headlines for his accomplishments off the mat. The University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association is recognizing Jim Alexander '69, as a 2017 Honored Alumni.
Jim Alexander was inducted into the UNC Athletics Hall of Fame with the 1968-1969 wrestling team and as an individual.
For 39 years, Alexander has personally owned and operated a roofing company in the Aspen and Roaring Fork valley areas. In addition to being a business owner for nearly four decades, Jim is also serves a positive influence on the local community.
In helping the community, Alexander offers his time at local high schools as a coach, teacher, and booster club member, as well as hosting a Bible Study that helps support single moms and widows.
Alexander has also offered his services internationally, as he did work with orphanages and prisons in Juarez, Mexico.
During his wrestling career at UNC, Alexander was the top of his class. He placed third at both the 1968 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships and the 1969 Division II Wrestling Championships. Although Alexander was limited to only three seasons of competition, he still earned three straight RMAC and MIWA championships, and holds the school record for most career pins.
