"All the guys competed hard today and got off to a great start," head coach Roger Prenzlow said. "We had a few slip away on the back nine. Josh [Matz] played a bogey free round of 66 and Steven [Kupcho] played well the entire tournament and Li [Eric Chen] was solid today."
Freshman Josh Matz exploded in the finale. Matz scored a bogey free round of 66 (-6). He was good for four birdies on the front and two more on the back, along with 12 pars.
The freshman completed the tournament in the Top 10 for pars (34) and birdies (11). His total of 215 (73,76,66) placed him 11th overall, jumping up 13 spots on the leaderboard in the final day.
Senior Steven Kupcho also notched another under-par round in his final 18 holes. Kupco wrote down a 71 (-1) on his scorecard.
Kupcho tallied four birdies, three bogeys and 12 pars finishing the front nine even and recording a -1 under finish on the back.

Freshman Eric Chen completed the final stretch of the tournament with a 72 (E). Chen played a strong front half of the course with two birdies and an eagle, which erased his bogey on hole 3 to make the turn at -3 under.
The back nine got the best of Chen as he ended with a double, two bogeys and a birdie for +3 over.
Chen shot a 220 (74,74,72) which placed the freshman in a tie for 15th overall.
Sophomore Sam Marley once again bested his lowest round total, holing a 75 (+2). Marley combated his eight bogeys on the day with five birdies, two on the front and three on the back to beat his best 18 hole score of 78 by three strokes.

Senior Conner Barr rounded out the Bear team. Barr secured a Top 20 placing, coming in tied for 17th overall with a 221 (70,74,77).
Barr's final round of 77 (+5) was up and down. He had a solid start flip flopping bogey and birdie throughout the front nine to make the turn at even par. The difficulty for the senior came on the final nine holes beginning with a bogey on the 11th. From there, he holed five straight pars before a double, and back-to-back bogeys ended his day.
"Conner and Steven have laid a nice foundation for the current returning Bears and also future Bears and I'm very thankful for everything they have done for this program. They will be sorely missed on the golf course," Prenzlow said of his two seniors.
All-Big Sky honors will be released on Monday, May 2.
