The Bears look to break their losing streak on Friday evening
GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado Wrestling prepares for another home dual this Friday, Jan. 22, against the Cal Poly Mustangs. After two losses at home last weekend, the Bears look to snap their three-dual losing streak.
The Mustangs are currently on their own four-dual losing streak, with a season record of 1-5. Their lone win this season came over San Francisco State, 29-8 back in early November.
Last season, the Bears defeated Cal Poly in San Louis Obispo, 23-22, winning five of the matches including two major decisions and a fall.
Prior to the dual on Friday, the Bears will be hosting USA Wrestling's Jack Pinto Cup - a Greco-Roman dual between USA wrestlers and International wrestlers. The event will start at 6:00 p.m. (doors open at 5:00 p.m.) and will feature four matches, including a highlight match at 130kg [USA's Robby Smith vs Puerto Rico's Edgardo Lopez]. FULL RELEASE
Tickets for the UNC vs. Cal Poly dual and Jack Pinto Cup (one ticket gains entry to both events) are $7 for adults and $5 for youth (13 & Under), Faculty/Staff and Seniors. You can purchase them beforehand online at tickets.unco.edu or by by calling the UNC Ticket Office at 970-351-4409.
Both matches will be available to watch via live stream (uncbears.com/wrestwatchlive) and fans can follow live stats/results through Trackwrestling (direct links for Cal Poly stats below).
The Bears are back on the road for the next two weekends for two non-conference duals against Boise State (Jan. 29) and Oregon State (Jan. 31) and a Big 12 matchup against Wyoming (Feb. 6) before returning home.
