@UNCBearsWrestle Opens Up Home Dual Schedule

The Bears host South Dakota State and North Dakota State this weekend in Big 12 duals
GREELEY, Colo. – Wrestling opens up their home dual schedule this weekend when they host the South Dakota State Jackrabbits (Jan. 15) and the North Dakota State Bison (Jan. 17).
These duals will be the first Big 12 Conference duals held in Greeley since the Bears became affiliates of the conference in July 2015. The UNC squad will not only debut a brand new wrestling mat, but they'll also reveal their new singlets for the first time in front of a home crowd.
The action kicks off on Friday evening against SDSU at 7:00 PM MT. The two teams met last season in Brookings, South Dakota, resulting in a loss for the Bears, 29-10. The Jackrabbits are .500 on the season with a 5-5 dual record overall. In Big 12 matchups this season, they've also split a pair, falling to Oklahoma State 20-15, but defeating North Dakota State 24-15.
Friday evening is also Kids Night, prior to the start of the dual, UNC will be hosting its annual Kids Day Clinic (5:00 doors open - 5:45 start time). Registration is open and free, the form can be completed here. Send completed forms to leslie.masterpaul@unco.edu.
Sunday afternoon brings another Bank of Colorado Arena dual when the Bears face off against NDSU at 2:00 PM MT. UNC also fell to the Bison squad last season, going 23-13 in Fargo, North Dakota. The Bison have yet to win a dual this season, losing to Virginia 25-14 and Virginia Tech 23-13 earlier in the season before tacking on a loss by SDSU 24-15.
The Annual Alumni Appreciation will take place at the intermission of the dual on Sunday, and all former wrestlers and coaches are encouraged to attend. In order to be able to recognize all UNC Wrestling alumni in attendance, please RSVP here. UNC Wrestling alumni are also welcome to stop by the Champions Room prior to the dual for a pre-match social.
Both matches will be available to watch via live stream (uncbears.com/wrestwatchlive) and fans can follow live stats/results through Trackwrestling (direct links below).
The Bears remain at home next weekend for a Friday night (Jan. 22) non-conference dual against the Cal Poly Mustangs, scheduled for a 7:00 PM MT start.
