FINAL RESULTS
AURORA, Ore. – The Northern Colorado women's golf team wrapped up play at the 6th annual Rose City Collegiate on Tuesday. The Bears had another solid round of 297, moving up a spot in the rankings tying for 9th overall with Boise State.
As a team, UNC ended with a 910 (316-297-297) and posted their best overall score and finish at the invite since it began in 2010.
"Amanda's maturity showed that she can compete with some of the best players in the country and I couldn't be happier for her finishing third in this top field," head coach Stephen Bidne said.
Senior Amanda Myers had an impressive all around tournament, finishing -2 under after 54 holes, including a round of 72 (E) today.
Myers tied for 3rd place on the leaderboard, her best finish of the young season.
"We did a good job of staying in the moment and were able to get off to a good start on the tougher back nine where we started today," Bidne explained. "We were making good decisions when in trouble and kept giving ourselves nice opportunities all day."
Junior Baile Winslow climbed into the Top 25 after a solid final round. Winslow also fired a 72 (E), her best of the tournament to jump up 16 spots on the leaderboard tying for 23rd overall.
Fellow junior Kala Keltz also marked her best 18 holes of the meet, coming into the club house with a 74 (+2), improving four strokes from her second round total and nine strokes from round one.
Keltz ended the collegiate at +19 over (83-78-74), good for 50th place.
Freshman Christina Ferreira and junior Jordan Sunset shot identical rounds on Tuesday. Both girls signed off a 79 (+7) to end their week in Oregon.
Ferreira earned 59th place, while Sunset was three back in 61st overall, respectively.
"We again had a tough time with our pace on these hilly multi-tiered greens which led to quite a few three putts," Bidne said. "Overall, it was great to see the team play well again and post another sub 300 round. It's exciting as a coach to see the hard work the girls have been putting in pay off and I am looking forward to keeping the momentum moving into Denver next week."
San Francisco took the team honors posting an 871 (+7 overall), while the Dons' Vanessa Ha captured the individual title with a 210 (-6 overall). Both scores were Rose City Collegiate records.
The Bears will continue their fall tour heading to Denver, Colorado at the University of Denver Intercollegiate on Oct. 9-10.
