Northern Colorado women's basketball hosts Utah State Tuesday night
GREELEY, Colo. --Â Northern Colorado women's basketball comes into Tuesday night's game on a two game win streak after a successful trip to San Diego over the weekend. The Bears will host Mountain West foe Utah State Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.

Game Notes: Northern Colorado | Utah State
The Matchup
Northern Colorado returns home after a 2-0 weekend in San Diego. The Bears defeated Akron (78-65) and Valparaiso (77-63). In those two games seven different Bears scored
in double figures.
Utah State has had a week to prepare for this match up with UNC. The Aggies come to Greeley with a 2-2 record defeating Westminster and Pacific, while losing to Sacramento
State and BYU.
Scouting the Aggies
Utah State has a strong offensive team to start the year, averaging 76.8 point per game and have the leading scorer in the Mountain West Conference with Funda Nakkasoglu
(18.0 ppg). USU has two other players averaging double digits scoring in Katie Toole (12.5 ppg) and Rachel Brewster
(10.8).
While the Aggies have been able to put up points they have also had trouble stopping their opponents from scoring. USU opponents are averaging 78.2 points per game.
The team has been able to prepare for Tuesday night's match up for a week since their last game. The Aggies are coming
off an 81-69 loss to in state rival BYU.
This will be the second time this season Utah State has faced a Big Sky Conference opponent. They opened the season vs Sacramento State, falling to the Hornets 95-86.
Last Time Out
• Northern Colorado traveled to San Diego for the Thanksgiving weekend going 2-0, defeating Akron and Valparaiso. The Bears saw a break out performance from
sophomore guard Savannah Scott who scored a career high 21 points against Valpo and led the team with six rebounds against Akron.
Against the Mountain West
• The Bears has faced off against teams in the Mountain West Conference 124 times coming up with a 50-74 record. Utah State is the first of two Mountain West
opponents for UNC this season. Last year they played three MWC teams with going 2-1 including a WNIT First Round win over Colorado State.
On This Date
• UNC has played on the opening day of December ten times with a 4-6 record. All of those wins have come away from Bank of Colorado Arena. The Bears will look
to change their home luck on the date this year after dropping the previous four games played at home on the first.
Month of December
• Northern Colorado holds a record just above .500 in the month of December going 119-113. The best the
team ever did in the month was a 6-0 record during the 1994-95 season.
Offense is Heating Up
• The California sun helped warm up Northern Colorado's offense this past weekend. The team averaged 77.5 points a game and had seven different players finish in
double figures scoring during those games.
Youth is Served
• UNC will be leading on a group of young players this season with 54.8 percent of the team's scoring coming from underclassmen and 47.5 percent of the team's rebounds.
What's on Deck?
• The Bears travel to South Dakota on Saturday to face the Jackrabits of South Dakota State. The two teams faced each other last year with SDSU leaving Greeley
with a 71-48 win.
