"This is a good team victory, we were able to use a lot of our depth tonight, and did well on defense." said head coach Kamie Ethridge.
Offensively UNC was led by the senior duo of Stephanie Lee (Casper,Wyo.) and D'shara Strange (Fountain).
Lee recorded her first double-digit scoring performance of the year, getting her 10th point by the 9:20 mark of the first half. Her final line was 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

UNC kept the Mountaineers from scoring their first field goal until four minutes into the game. Northern Colorado also forced eight turnovers, getting 10 points off of them in the first half.
Western State would battle back and cut the lead down to 13 with 10:09 left in the half, before UNC responded with a 10-0 run over six minutes to extend their lead to 38-17.
Kyleigh Hiser (Laramie, Wyo.) made two three pointers during the run. Northern Colorado went into the half leading 45-22.
Hiser finished with 14 points, three rebounds and an assist.
The second half started out like the first for the Bears, going on an 11-2 run. Kourteney Zadina (Seward, Neb.) had seven of the eleven points with Strange picking up the other four during the run.
Zadina was the fourth Bear of the night to finish in double-figures scoring 12 points.
"We have a lot of parts that we can move all around the floor. Tonight showed that we can continue to keep working on improving as a team as non-conference play goes along." Ethridge said.
The closest WSU would get in the second half was 28 points at the 6:11 mark.
Northern Colorado will now hit the road for a two game road trip starting Friday, Nov. 28 at Nebraska-Omaha at 6 p.m. (MST).
