Jay Valentine

Won the 1988 NCAA Division II Championship in the steeplechase and finished fourth in the event in 1987. Also earned All-American honors during the indoor season, finishing seventh at the NCAA Championships in the 1500 meters. Twice won the North Central Conference title in the steeplechase as well as finishing fourth at the USA National Junior Championships in the steeple. Still holds the Northern Colorado school records in the indoor 1000 meters and outdoor 3000 meter steeplechase as well as being a member of the school-record holding 4x800 meter relay.
