Kira Alger

2012-13: A member of the 200 freestyle relay that shattered the school record, combining for a 1:33.83... Also swam the anchor leg on the 400 freestyle relay that posted the second-fastest time in school history at 3:29.11... Named to the WAC All-Academic Team... Had the third fastest time on the team in the 50 free, swimming a 24.27 on the first day of the WAC Championships... Also was third on the team in the 100 free, touching the wall in 53.03 at the Nebraska Omaha Invitational... Timed a season-best 1:56.01 in the 200 free at the WAC Championships... In the 100 fly, timed a 1:04.77 in the season opener at Colorado Mesa.

2011-12: Posted the fourth fastest time on the team in the 50 free, swimming a 24.52 at the UNLV Invitational... Her 28.20 in the 50 butterfly at the Colorado Mesa Invitational was good for second-fastest on the team... Swam a season-best time of 53.24 at the MPSF Championship... Swam the third leg on both the 200 and 400 free at the MPSF Championship, as well as the anchor leg on the fastest 400 medley relay team of the year (3:53.52) at UNLV.

2010-11: As a true freshman, tied for the 10th fastest time in school history in the 50 free with her personal best swim of 24.53... Also posted the fourth-fastest time in the 100 free after touching the wall in 52.39... Swam the third leg on the Northern Colorado 200 free school record relay team. The quartet swam a 1:35.52 and all four return in 2012... Won the 100 free against Air Force (Dec. 3) and at the Maverick Meet (Jan. 15).

High School: Holds the school record in the 100 fly and is a member of the school record 200 medley relay and 400 free relay... Finished sixth in the 100 fly and 50 free at the 2010 4A State Championship... Voted Most Inspirational by her teammates at Lewis-Palmer.

Personal: Is one of six children of Bryan and Heidi Alger... Has two older siblings and three younger... Majoring in human services and minoring in communications.
