2012-13: Named to the WAC All-Academic team... As a true freshman posted the third-fastest time in school history in the 500 free, swimming a 5:00.87, which was also the 10th best time in the WAC for the year... Also swam the second leg of the 800 freestyle relay that broke the school record in 7:31.12, bettering the old mark by over five seconds... Timed a season-best 59.28 in the 100 butterfly at the WAC Championships... Her 1:55.09 in the 200 free was the 25th best time in the WAC for 2012-13.
High School: Was a four-time all-league selection at Santiago High School... Broke three school records in her junior year and owns the 50 and 100 free records in the Big VIII Conference... Also a four-year member of the honor roll and helped lead the Sharks to four-straight Big VIII Championships... Was team captain as both a junior and senior, as well as the MVP of the team in 2009.
Personal: Born Jan. 9 in Corona, Calif... Is one of three daughters of Mark and Sharon Etz with an older sister Lauren, and a younger sister Danielle... Majoring in criminal justice... Recruited by Hawai'i, New Mexico, Fresno State, San Jose State and Wyoming in addition to the Bears.
