2012-13: Earned Second-Team All-WAC honors in both the 400 IM (4:22.67) and 200 back (2:00.57) after finishing seventh in each... Also named to the WAC All-Academic team... In the prelims of the 400 IM at the WAC Championships, broke the school record in the 400 IM, swimming a 4:21.85... She also ranks second in school history in the 100 back (56.11) and the 200 back (2:00.57) and missed that record by just 0.03... She swam the opening leg on the 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams that shattered school records, as well as the opening leg on the 800 free relay that took over five seconds off the previous mark.
2011-12: Named the MPSF Swimmer of the Week twice during the season... Swam a 4:27.45 in the 400 IM at the MPSF Championship, missing the school record by just 0.27... She also has the second-fastest time in school history in the 200 IM, swimming a 2:06.26 at the season-ending championship... Her 2:01.43 in the 200 back at the UNLV Winter Invitational also ranks second at UNC and her 57.17 in the 100 back is third all-time. Not one to be an under-achiever, she also posted the second-fastest time in school history in the 200 free, swimming a 1:52.25... She now owns seven of the fastest 10 times in school history in the 400 IM and five in the 200 IM.
2010-11: Was twice named MPSF Swimmer of the Week as a true freshman and earned all-conference honors after finishing sixth at the MPSF Championship in the 100 backstroke (57.30)... She was also 10th in the 200 back (2:02.42) and 11th in the 400 IM (4:28.16)... Ranks third in school history in the 200 free (1:53.63), second in the 200 back (2:02.42), third in the 100 back (57.17) and second in the 400 IM (4:28.16)... Also a member of the school-record holding 400 medley relay team (3:50.64)... In her first collegiate meet, won three events at the Intermountain Shootout (Oct. 8-9) and followed it up with wins in both the 400 IM and 200 back against New Mexico (Nov. 4), the 200 back at Northern Iowa (Nov. 13), the 100 and 200 back at the Colorado State Invitational (Nov. 20), the 200 back against Air Force (Dec. 3), the 100 and 200 back at Wyoming (Dec. 4) and the 200 back at Loyola Marymount (Jan. 4)
High School: Her high school did not sponsor swimming & diving during the year, but was able to represent Burlington Central at sectionals and state after training with a club team... Won her high school sectionals in the 100 butterfly in 2009 and finished second in the 100 backstroke... At the state meet, finished 15th in the 100 fly... Was a member of the National Honor Society and a four-year member of the honor roll... Also awarded the Scholastic Award of Excellence all four years.
Personal: The middle of three children of Robert and Anne VanOost with an older sister, Alex and a younger sister, Kristin... Born May 17, 1992 in Barrington, Ill...Majoring in business marketing at Northern Colorado.
