Bio
Career at UNCO—After graduating from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in economics, Uryan transferred to UNC during the Covid year of 2020. Despite the school forgoing playing the 2020 year, Uryan made the most of his time by graduating with another bachelor’s degree in Sports Administration ‘21 and a master’s degree in business ’22. He started at both cornerback and nickelback in the defensive secondary, finishing with a total of 47 tackles, 8 pass defended, 1 interception, 1 sack, and 379 return yards. Throughout his time at UNC, Uryan gained recognition as an All-Big Sky member, Summa Cum Laude honors, Dean’s list of distinction, NCAA cohort member, and team captain.
AT COLORADO: 2019—Converted to safety while also playing cornerback, nickel, special team’s positions.
AT COLORADO: 2018 —Played primarily Special Teams while tallying one special teams point, a knockdown or springing block on a kickoff return. He also saw his first career action on defense at cornerback against Colorado State.
HIGH SCHOOL—Uryan was a 3-sport varsity athlete (Football, Basketball, and Track). Coached by former Syracuse QB coach Kirk Martin at Manvel High School ... Two-time All-District honors, Houston Vype 2016 6A Defensive Player of the Year, and All-State honoree who helped lead the Manvel Mavericks to three straight regional finals during his three years at Manvel High School… While playing all secondary positions: cornerback, nickel, safety, his senior year posted 57 tackles (48 solo, nine assisted), which ranked fourth on the team … Picked off a team-high five passes that he returned for 105 yards (21.0 per) and also was credited with a team-high nine pass breakups … Returning 13 punts, he averaged 19.3 per return with a long of 75 yards for a touchdown in a 56-0 win over Pasadena; he also had 251 kickoff return yards … His top games as a senior came in a 43-40 win over North Shore when he had a season-high eight tackles, two pass breakups and an interception on a two-point conversion attempt that he returned 100 yards to result in a scoring two points as a safety for his team, a four-point swing in the game the Mavericks won by three. He finished his high school career by being named Vype Houston Defensive Player of the Year and All-State honors. With all success on the field, he was a member of the National Honor Society off the field.
ACADEMICS—Uryan holds a 4.0 Grade Point Average, placing him on the Dean’s List of Distinction. In 2020, he graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in Economics with a minor in business … At the 26th Annual Student-Athlete Academic Recognition Banquet on April 3, 2018, he was one of three Buffs within Colorado’s athletic department honored with the Most Improved Student-Athlete Award and made the dean's list three times.
PERSONAL—His uncle, Chris Hudson, was a consensus first-team All-American at CU and the 1994 winner of the Jim Thorpe Award presented to the nation’s top defensive back. Loves Smoothie King. (First name is pronounced you-ryan)
