Lyle Moevao is in his first season as the running backs coach and recruiting coordinator for Northern Colorado.
He came to UNC by most recently coaching in the Alliance of American Football with the San Antonio Commanders as the running backs coach. He was on staff with his former head coach Mike Riley.
Before coaching in the AAF he was the quarterbacks coach at Lewis & Clark College in 2017.
Moevao started his coaching career at his alma mater Oregon State in 2013. He started as an associate student intern working with the quarterbacks and running backs. He was then hired as an offensive quality control assistant for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
He played at Oregon State from 2006-09 going 11-4 as the team’s starting quarterback including a 3-0 Sun Bowl victory over No. 18 Pittsburgh. The Beavers finished the year ranked 18th in the AP Poll and 19th in the USA Today Coaches Poll. He ranks in the programs top 10 for passing yards and touchdowns. He was a Pac 10 honorable mention honoree his junior season.
