Brandon Charles was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director, Chief of Football Operations in April 2020 after serving the UNC football program as the Director of Football Operations beginning in 2016. Charles originally joined the UNC staff in August 2013, serving as the teams Film Coordinator.

Charles oversees the day-to-day operations of the University of Northern Colorado football program. He serves as the program’s liaison to the University Administration and all other units within the University of Northern Colorado Athletic Department. His responsibilities include departmental budget, team travel, meals and housing, supervising all non-coaching personnel, alumni relations, coordinating all community service and outreach for players and coaches. Charles is heavily involved in player and coach development off the field.

Charles also serves as the staff’s Film Coordinator, NFL Liaison, Camp Coordinator and Director of Community Outreach. Each summer Charles helps grow the game of football through both camps held by the UNC football staff and in the community through volunteer work by himself and UNC student-athletes.

Originally from Pagosa Springs, CO, he earned his Master’s Degree in Sport Administration from the University of Northern Colorado and a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication from Colorado Mesa University.

While attending Colorado Mesa University, Charles was named to the All-Conference RMAC team, All-Colorado, Honorable Mention All American and Academic All-American teams in football. In addition, Charles was also a member of the Colorado Mesa University Men’s Basketball team.

Charles is also the department’s DVSport replay technician at men’s and women’s basketball games. In 2016, Charles was awarded the ninth annual Billy Vizzini Conference Scholarship by the Collegiate Sports Video Association.
