Bio
2017-18: Drjon appeared in 18 games as a freshman averaging seven minutes a game. He shot nearly 30-percent from three scoring all but six of his season points from behind the arc.
High School: Standing at 6'9", Drgon is a post player with range. He's currently a standout at the Get Better Academy in Prague, Czech Republic under GBA director Julian Bet'ko... Drgon has played plenty of international competition, earning starting spots on the Slovakia national team in back-to-back years. The newest UNC commit led Slovakia to a third place finish at the 2016 U18 European Championships, averaging 13.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the tournament... Throughout the FIBA European Championship, Drgon netted six games in double figures, including a personal tournament-high 18 points against Ukraine... In 2015 at the U18 Euro Championships he averaged 8.4 points per game and 3.2 rebounds... Other highlights in his prep career include two Slovakia Streetball championships, a GBA championship at U19 Cholet Mondial tournament, and a player of the game nod at the Providence Invitational Prep tournament.Matej is the son of Vojtech and Katarina Drgon. He is still undecided about his major at UNC.
