GLEN COVE, N.Y. - Northern Colorado men's golf team battled through a dramatic and tightly contested third round at the Nassau Country Club, ultimately finishing tied with Bryant after 54 holes before winning a playoff hole to move into first place at the Shark Invitational.
At the end of Round three, UNC and the Bryant Bulldogs were deadlocked at the top of the team leader board at nine-over par, forcing a sudden-death playoff to determine the team leader. The Bears rose to the moment under pressure, securing the playoff hole to take the top spot at the Shark Invitational.
In the playoff hole, all five players were eligible to compete, with the format being five vs five and counting the best four scores. Kaelen Dulany, who had been unable to participate earlier in the day due to injury sustained that morning, felt improved as the round progressed and was able to return for the playoff.
The team delivered a strong performance, recording four pars and a birdie from Dulany. Key clutch par putts were made by Koropeski and Barnes Grimes to secure the result.
Northern Colorado was paced in Round three by strong individual performances throughout the lineup.
