GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado women's basketball has earned and accepted a berth in the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT), extending a historic season for the Bears under head coach Kristen Mattio.

The WNIT bracket and seeds will be announced on Monday, March 16.

The postseason bid follows the Bears' strongest campaign of the Mattio era, highlighted by consistent performances throughout the season.

The selection marks the program's 14th postseason appearance and the eighth since UNC transitioned to NCAA Division I. It will also be the sixth time the Bears have competed in the WNIT, with previous appearances coming in 2012, 2013, 2015, 2019 and most recently in 2024.
