Bears Finish Third at MPSF Championships With Two Titles, Pool Record and NCAA Qualifier

PHARR, Texas – Northern Colorado concluded competition at the 2026 MPSF Championships with two individual conference titles, a pool record, an NCAA qualifying performance and a third-place finish in the final team standings with 1,171.5 points.
The Bears recorded the highest total swimming points at the championship, reflecting overall performance in individual and relay events.
Kyra Rabess won the 1650 freestyle in 16:35.33, moving to No. 2 all-time in program history. Emma On-The-Hill placed ninth in 17:09.60, and Cheyanna Cordova finished 22nd in 17:54.40.
In the 200 backstroke, Ariane Bernier placed fifth in 1:59.67. Linnea Haan finished 12th in 2:02.19, and Audrey Vannelli added a 17th-place finish in 2:03.26.
Maria Erokhina captured the 200 breaststroke title in 2:10.84. The time set a new pool record, met NCAA qualifying standards and ranks No. 1 all-time in Northern Colorado history. Rachel Ley placed sixth in 2:17.37, and Avi Tromp finished 11th in 2:19.20, moving into No. 10 all-time at UNC.
Ellyson Lombardi won the 200 butterfly in 1:59.70. Agathi Manoli placed 16th in 2:06.76, and Hlaa Diab finished 17th in 2:04.83.
In the 100 freestyle, Alexis Mishler finished ninth in 50.77, and Lora Konter placed 13th in 51.17.
Northern Colorado closed the meet with a third-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Vitoria Simioni, Mishler, Konter and Rabess combined for a time of 3:21.26.
