PORTLAND, Ore. – Northern Colorado women's basketball picked up a road win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Portland State, 71–57, at Viking Pavilion to improve to 19-8 overall and 10-4 in Big Sky play, securing two road wins on the week.
The Bears set the tone early, opening the game on an 18–8 first-quarter run and never surrendering the lead the rest of the way. Northern Colorado continued to control the pace in the middle quarters and used a steady third-quarter performance to maintain separation before closing the game with a 21-point fourth quarter.
Neenah George led all scorers with 17 points on 4-of-9 shooting while going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line. Aniah Hall added 16 points off the bench and was a key presence in the paint, drawing fouls and converting 8-of-12 from the line. Tatum West continued her strong stretch with 10 points and a team-high five rebounds, while Julia Riley chipped in nine points, knocking down three triples.
UNC finished the afternoon shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from three-point range, compared to Portland State's 38.3 percent shooting and just 2-for-13 from beyond the arc.
