GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado's Ava Marshall has been named Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday, after helping the Bears to a pair of conference wins and into a tie for first place in the Big Sky standings.
Marshall scored in both matches, adding the opener in the 28th minute of Sunday's 3-0 win over Montana at Jackson Stadium and putting all three of her shots on target. Her fourth goal of the season moved her into a tie with Madeline Mori for the team lead.
The win extended Northern Colorado's unbeaten run in Big Sky play to six matches, the longest conference start without a loss in the program's Division I era, and pulled the Bears level at the top of the table with 14 points.
The honor is the second Big Sky weekly award for Marshall this season and the fourth for a Bear overall. Marshall earned Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 15, and Mia Norman was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 13. It is the first time in the Division I era that Northern Colorado players have won a weekly conference honor four times in a single season.
