UNC Soccer to Play 20 Matches, Including Eight at Home
"Always excited to get the new year going. We think that we have a great schedule that will both challenge and prepare us for the rigors of Big Sky play. We play six Summit League teams including four on the road and four Mountain West teams which should all be great games" said Tim Barrera, University of Northern Colorado women's soccer head coach.
The season kicks off on Sunday, August 10, with UNC traveling to face Denver on their home field. The road stretch continues with a match against Omaha on Thursday, August 14, followed by a game at Oral Roberts in Oklahoma on Sunday, August 18, and concludes at Wyoming on Thursday, August 21.
Returning to Greeley, UNC will play its first home game of the season on Saturday, August 23, at 3 p.m., hosting Fordham. A few days later, the Bears will welcome Southern Utah to Jackson Stadium on Thursday, August 28.
The non-conference schedule includes several key in-state matchups, with back-to-back games against Colorado on September 4 and Colorado College on September 7. The Bears will then face South Dakota on September 11, South Dakota State on September 14, and Air Force on September 19. The non-conference slate wraps up at home against Kansas City on September 21.
In conference play, UNC will face each of the other eight Big Sky opponents once. Sacramento State, the 2024 Big Sky season champions, will visit Greeley on September 25. The Bears will also host Portland State on October 12 and Idaho State on October 17. The regular season closes with a home game against Weber State on October 19.
UNC's road conference schedule includes trips to Montana (September 28), Northern Arizona (October 5), Idaho (October 24), and concludes with an away game at Eastern Washington on October 26.
