\GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado Men's Basketball Head Coach Steve Smiley has announced the final addition to the 2025-26 roster with the commitment of Will Dixion, a 6'2" guard from Tucson, Arizona.
Dixion, who spent the 2024-25 season at Simpson College as a medical redshirt, returns to the court with a strong high school résumé. A product of Canyon Del Oro High School, Dixion averaged 17.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game as a senior while knocking down 36 three-pointers. His standout performances earned him First Team All-Region honors in both his junior and senior seasons.
"We're excited to announce the final addition of our 2025-26 roster with the commitment of Will Dixion to our roster!" said Smiley. "Will was a player that we tracked in high school in Tucson a couple of years ago, as he played for Team Zona on the club circuit. Will is a big, physical guard that we believe will have the chance to play multiple spots in time. We were looking for a bigger guard to round out our roster, and with Will committing to the Bears, we think we have found the right piece of the puzzle!"
Dixion's length and versatility have stood out on the West Coast grassroots scene, particularly during his time with Team Zona, where he developed a reputation as a high-level defender.
"In my opinion, Will is one of the elite defensive guards on the west coast," said Sal Garcia, Director of Team Zona. "His length and athleticism make him a nightmare for opposing teams. I'm extremely excited that he will be furthering his education and basketball career playing for one of the top head coaches in the country in Coach Steve Smiley. He found himself a gem! It's a great day to be a Bear!"
With the addition of Dixion, Northern Colorado finalizes a well-balanced and competitive roster heading into the 2025-26 campaign.
