Record-Breaking Season Propels UNC Diver to 1-Meter and 3-Meter Competition in Federal Way
GREELEY, Colo. – After an impressive season, diver Madison Berg has qualified for the NCAA Diving Zones, where she will compete in the 1-meter and 3-meter events. The competition will take place at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington, beginning March 10.
Live updates will be available on DiveMeets.
The top five male and female divers from Zone E will automatically advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be streamed on ESPN+.
Berg's standout season included earning two WAC Diver of the Week honors, the second coming after she shattered UNC's 1-meter dive record with a score of 309.30—surpassing the previous mark set by Kelly Schmeckpepper-Cook in 2011.
Earlier this year, she secured a runner-up finish in the 1-meter event with 251.10 points against Air Force. She followed that performance with dominant victories in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives against CSU on January 24.
