Bears Post Four UNC Top-10 Times on Day Two of WAC Championships

The Bears are in sixth place after two full days of competition
HOUSTON, Texas – After two full days of competition, Northern Colorado swimming & diving sits in sixth place.
Martina Yuki Trionfetti delivered the Bears' top performance of the day, finishing second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.81—the second-fastest in UNC program history. Ellyson Lombardi placed ninth in the event with a 23.56, ranking ninth all-time for the Bears. Together, they contributed 26 points to the team total.
Madison Berg added 13 points with a sixth-place finish in the 1-meter dive, scoring 243.00.
UNC had four swimmers finish in the top 16 of the 500 freestyle: Lora Konter, Lily Mayer, Kyra Rabess, and Emma On-The-Hill. Konter's time of 4:54.25 secured her a spot in the program's record book, ranking fifth all-time.
Birgitta Ingolfsdottir set a personal best in the 200 IM, touching the wall at 2:03.76—good for fourth in UNC history. Maria Erokhina followed in 2:05.10, finishing three spots behind Ingolfsdottir, while Agathi Manoli clocked in at 2:06.08.
Friday features swimming prelims in the morning for the 100 fly, 100 IM, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, and platform dive. The finals for those events will take place in the evening.
