12/5/2025 9:01:00 AM | Wrestling
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado wrestling is gearing up for a road trip to Southern Illinois Edwardsville, where the Bears will compete in the Cougar Clash on Sunday, December 7. Action is set to begin at 8 a.m. MT, with live stats and streaming available through FloWrestling.
The Bears return to competition for the first time since November 22, when they took part in the Younes Hospitality Open at Nebraska Kearney. Northern Colorado turned in a strong showing at that event, earning three medalists and solid performances across the lineup.
LAST TIME OUT
Northern Colorado was led by Daishun Powe, who secured a third-place finish at 157 pounds. Powe went 5-1 on the day, grinding out multiple close matches and displaying exceptional pace management, discipline, and mental resilience.
At 141 pounds, KJ Evans finished 3-3 and delivered one of the tournament's highlights for the Bears—a dominant 15-0 technical fall over South Dakota State's Liam Nietzel. His performance showcased his ability to take control early and maintain pressure throughout.
In the 165-pound division, Logan Glynn added three wins of his own. Glynn demonstrated poise and leadership in a competitive bracket, contributing valuable momentum to the team.
Rounding out Northern Colorado's medalists, Mahonri Rushton claimed third place at 184 pounds with a 4-1 record. Rushton continues to be one of UNC's most reliable and consistent performers this season.
