JaeSeung Na Leads UNC at the Falcons Invitational

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Led by JaeSeung Na, Northern Colorado wrapped up play at the Gene Miranda Falcons Invitational on the blue course at Eisenhower Golf Course (par 72/7,511 yards).
The junior transfer from Auckland, New Zealand fired a 3-under-par Monday, finishing sixth. He opened with a 71 Saturday, before posting a 73 Sunday. Na eagled the par-4 fourth hole and followed with a birdie on the fifth, a par-5. He birdied the par-5 16th to finish with a 69 over the final 18 holes.
Na helped the Bears to a 294 Monday, their lowest round of the three rounds, moving up three spots to 12th in the 22-team field. UNC improved each round, shooting 297-295-293—885, seven strokes behind Air Force in 10th and six behind SIU-Edwardsville in 11th. The Bears bested Weber State in 13th by one swing.
Palmer Mutcheson placed 48th with a 73-74-76—223, while Antti Vahvaselka tallied a 76-76-74—226.
Westin Pals opened with an 82 before closing with a 73 and 74, totaling 229.
Cooper Tate rounded out the team scoring with a 77-75-84—236.
Matias Koropeski, Talan Gover and Davis Miller competed in the individual tournament on the par 72, 6,402-yard silver course.
Koropeski inked a 221 (79-71-71), while Gover recorded a 73-73-78—224 and Miller carded a 79-73-73—225.
The Bears return to action Monday, Sept. 30 – Tuesday, Oct. 1 at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational.
