GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado suffered a 2-0 setback to Buffalo at Jackson Stadium Sunday.
UNC honored Ashley Hillman, Morgan King, Lauren Woodhull, Victoria Franza, Mackenzie Haase, Delaney Doremus, Sydney Engelkins, Lauren Fuller, Melina Faris, Leila Donnerberg, Rachel Mortensen and Dylan Winters in a pregame Senior Day ceremony.
All 12 seniors logged minutes in the contest, with 11 in the starting lineup.
We had a lot of emotions," head coach Tim Barrera said. "We had a great crowd in support of our 12 seniors and that was fantastic.
Mortensen and Ava Marshall tallied two shots each, while Riley Kaali-Nagy, Mia Norman and Anneliese Wong inked one apiece.
"I thought we played well and kept a tough Buffalo team in check most of the game," Barrera said. "We dealt with them most of the game but it was just one of those days when we gave up an own goal and a PK."
The pair of goals for the Bulls occurred via an own goal and a penalty kick.
