Tina Barrett, Former LPGA Tour Pro Joins Golf Staff

GREELEY, Colo. – Tina Barrett, former LPGA tour pro joined the University of Northern Colorado as assistant golf coach, Clayton Sikorski, Director of Golf announced Wednesday.
Barrett spent the previous seven years at Ottawa University Arizona, including the last five as head coach of both the men's and women's teams. The Spirit won four Golden State Athletic Conference Championships, with two for each team.
Following the 2022-23 season, she collected GSAC Co-Coach of the Year and was an NAIA finalist for the Dave Williams Coach of the Year Award after the women won the conference championship.
She coached a Jack Nicklaus Award Finalist, seven NAIA All-American selections, a GSAC Player of the Year, and Freshman of the Year. On the women's side, four student-athletes garnered NAIA All-American honors and two earned GSAC Freshman of the Year.
As an assistant coach, she helped guide the Spirit to the 2019 Men's Golden State Athletic Conference championship and a runner-up finish at the 2018 NCCAA Men's National Championship. The women's program placed third or higher in eight events and one individual medalist.
Before her coaching career, Barrett enjoyed a successful 19-year career, registering 53 top-10 finishes, including a win at the 1989 Mitsubishi Motors Ocean State Open. She led the LPGA in driving accuracy during the 2006 season and tallied three holes-in-one during her career.
During her amateur career, Barrett won the 1988 Maryland State Amateur and the 1987 Eastern Amateur. Her collegiate career at Longwood College accolades include seven tournament titles, including the 1986-87 Small College National Championships. She added four NCAA Division II All-American Selections, one NCAA Division I All-American Honorable Mention, three Academic All-American Teams and a five-time member of the Dean's List.
