UNC Earns Fourth-Straight Postseason Appearance

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Northern Colorado earned a spot in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship, tournament officials announced Sunday.
UNC collected one of 29 bids to the event as an automatic qualifier by winning the 2024 Big Sky Conference regular season title.
First-round matches are set to be contested on eight host sites between Dec. 4-7, with the Super 16 contests Dec. 5-8. Great Eight and Fab Four matches occur between Dec. 9-12 and Dec. 12-14, respectively. The championship match occurs between Dec. 15-18, with all contests held on-campus locations.
The Bears open against App State of the Sun Belt Conference on the campus of Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga., Friday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. The Eagles host the first and second-round matches for the pod and host SEMO of the Ohio Valley Conference at 4 p.m. The winners of the two contests face off in the Super 16 Saturday at 2 p.m. All three match times are listed in Mountain Time.

After posting a 25-6 regular season mark, including 14-2 in Big Sky competition the Bears reached the postseason for the fourth-straight year. The Bears competed in the 2022 and 2021 NCAA Tournaments, before hosting the first two rounds of the NIVC last season.
It marks the 10th postseason appearance in 19 seasons since moving to NCAA Division I and joining the Big Sky Conference, including six of the last seven campaigns. The lone absence during the span was after the 2020 season, played in the spring of 2021.
