Lamb Announces Football Staff Restructure

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado head football coach Ed Lamb announced Wednesday a restructure of the coaching staff.
"As I evaluated the program, I felt shifting coaching responsibilities within our current coaching staff will make us better," Lamb said. "There is a sense of familiarity with our returning student-athletes on the roster, and the transition will be seamless. Excited to complete our 2024 recruiting class and get ready for spring practice."
Aaron Fernandez has been promoted to assistant head coach and NFL liaison and will continue to coach the defensive line.
Michael Smith, who is associate head coach and coaches the running backs, will also lead the special teams unit.
Preston Hadley, who coached safeties in addition to being defensive coordinator in 2023, will now coach linebackers and serve as the defensive coordinator.
James Pazak is moving from linebackers to safeties.
Nick Nissen is switching from tight ends to offensive line.
Spencer Patterson is moving from the offensive line to tight ends.
A quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach will be named at a later date.
