Northern Colorado Takes No. 3 Idaho Down to the Wire

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado gave No. 3 Idaho all it could handle, and the Vandals edged the Bears 27-13 Saturday afternoon in Big Sky Conference action from Nottingham Field.
Idaho jumped out to an early 10-0 lead, however, the Bears countered with a score before halftime to cut the deficit to within three. Freshman quarterback Shea Kuykendall, who made his UNC debut, orchestrated a 16-play, 83-yard drive that culminated with a five-yard touchdown pass to Kyle Helbig.
Hunter Green converted a pair of field goals in the fourth (40 yards, 25 yards) to bring the Bears to within 17-13 with 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
In the second quarter, Green also executed a successful fake punt on 4th down and 12 at the Bear's 23-yard line and rushed for 12 yards on the play.
