Bears Drop Road Opener at New Mexico State

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Northern Colorado dropped its road opener at New Mexico State 76-71 at Pan American Center Saturday.
Dejour Reaves led five Bears in double figures, scoring 16 points. Saint Thomas tallied 15, while Riley Abercrombie recorded 12, Brock Wisne added 11 and Langston Reynolds chipped in with 10.
Thomas grabbed a game high of 13 rebounds and led the team with three assists and three steals.
UNC hit 41.2 % of its field-goal attempts, including 6 of 20 from three-point range and led 40-28 at halftime.
The Aggies hit 11 of 25 in the field in the second half, including 4 of 11 from behind the arc and sinking 22 of 28 from the free-throw line to overcome the deficit.
The Bears went 9 of 19 from the field, with just 1 of 5 from deep and 12 of 19 at the charity stripe in the final 20 minutes.
