GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado men's golf team wraps up the fall slate Monday and Tuesday at the Everett Buick/GMC Classic – hosted by Arkansas Little Rock – on the Founders Course at Chenal Country Club (par 72/7,115 yards) in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The course hosted the 2019 Southern Amateur.
Competing for the Bears: Pietro Boeris, Antti Vahvaselka, TJ Shehee, Gage Messingham and Peter Grossenbacher.
Along with Northern Colorado, the 15-team field includes Ball State, Boston College Central Arkansas, Lamar, Little Rock (host), Louisiana, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oral Roberts, Troy, ULM, UT Arlington and UTEP.
The team competition includes 36 holes of continuous play (foursomes) Monday and 18 holes Tuesday, with both days beginning with a 7:30 a.m. MT shotgun start. Each five-member team will count the top four scores each day.
Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.
ABOUT THE COURSE: From their very inception, the golf courses at Chenal were destined to be ranked among the most prestigious in the nation. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., both the Founders Course and the Bear Den Course are imaginatively conceived, dramatically beautiful and extraordinarily challenging. Mr. Jones, creator of more than 125 of the world's best courses, including Monterey and Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach, CA, preserved the integrity of the rolling, wooded terrain of western Little Rock while developing two majestic courses.
The Founders Course opened with the Club in 1990. The Zoysia fairways offer an exceptional lie and the Tif Eagle Bermuda greens present the highest putting surface available. The course play at 7,115 yards and has been ranked as "America's top 100 Modern Golf Courses" by Golfweek magazine, and "#1 in Arkansas" by Golf Digest.
