GREELEY, Colo. - UNC student-athletes have proven their academic excellence yet again with a GPA higher than a 3.0 for the 19th straight semester. Following the 2022 spring, the Bears tabbed a semester GPA of 3.07 and a cumulative mark of 3.23.
"Our student-athletes continue to showcase their academic excellence year after year," said Director of Athletics Darren Dunn. "Returning to some normalcy has been difficult, but they have continued to take adversity in stride. I want to thank our academic support staff and UNC faculty, our coaches and of course the student-athletes for their hard work and commitment to being champions both on and off the field of play."
Volleyball led the Bears in the spring term with a 3.77, while swim and dive had the highest overall cumulative GPA at 3.74.
On the men's side, track and field ended the spring with a term GPA of 3.04, with men's golf securing the best cumulative mark of 3.36.
In all, seven different teams claimed a term GPA over 3.0. Five of these teams (women's basketball, women's golf, soccer, swimming and diving, and volleyball) all tabbed term GPAs higher than 3.5.
Additionally, 10 programs also earned cumulative GPAs over 3.0, five of them exceeding 3.5, to round out another successful academic year for Northern Colorado's student-athletes.
Individually, 186 student-athletes earned a term GPA of 3.5 or higher, 89 of which had a perfect 4.0 in the spring. There are currently 29 currently student-athletes with a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
