Three UNC women's golfers finish in the top 30
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Northern Colorado Women's Golf saved their best day for last moving four spots up the leaderboard on the final day of the Big Sky Championship. The Bears shot an 11-over 299 on Wednesday at Talking Stick Golf Club to finish tied for sixth with Southern Utah.
Three golfers finished in the top 30 for Northern Colorado led by Maria Vallejo. The sophomore ended up tied for 25th shooting a 12-over, 228 for the tournament. She closed out the 54-hole championship with an even-par 72 Wednesday posting a trio of birdies on her scorecard. Vallejo tied for the team lead with nine birdies for the tournament with Jenna Chun.
Chun and Abbi Fleiner tied for 29th, one stroke behind Vallejo with a 229. Chun's best round was a 1-over, 73 in round two. Fleiner's came in the first round with a 75.
