Shehee Picks Up First Career Win

A pair of Bears finish in the top 20
KERRVILLE, Texas – TJ Shehee picked up his first career win at the Big Texan at Comanche Trace. The junior shot a 4-under, 212 to win the tournament by two strokes.
Shehee shot his best round of the 54-hole tournament in the first round with a 3-under 69, he followed it up with a 2-under 70 his second time around the course on Monday. Over the 36 holes, he recorded 11 birdies and an eagle to sit at 5-under entering Tuesday. He concluded the tournament with a 1-over 73 holding off any competitors for the win. Shehee finished tied for the most birdies for the tournament with 16.
Jack Castiglia finished in the top 20 with a tie for 19th. He shot a 7-over, 223 for the tournament. Castiglia went 71-69 on the first day before struggling on Tuesday with an 83. The senior led the Bears with 33 pars and added in 10 birdies.
One other Bear shot below par for a round at the Big Texan in Blake Danni. He had the best individual round with a 4-under 68 in round two. He had six birdies on the round to just two bogeys.
Northern Colorado finished eighth as a team with a 32-over, 896.

The Bears return to the course April 10-12 at the UCSB Collegiate hosted by UC Santa Barbara at the Sandpiper Golf Club.
