Head Coach Lisa Ebeling and her crew look to add a fourth straight dual win over the Aggies with the previous two taking place in Las Cruces.
In the team's season opener at the Intermountain Shootout, multiple Bears claimed podium finishes. Freshman Maria Erokhina took first place in the 100 breaststroke and third in the 200 breaststroke in her debut as a Bear.
Anna Austin took home the silver in the 1,000 free, while Ali Jackson and Saana Liikonen placed second and third in the 50 free, respectively.
Payten Irwin also won gold in the 200 fly and silver in the 100 fly to help her team earn a fifth-place overall finish at the meet with a total of 588.5 points.
If the team's most recent performance is any indication, the Bears are in a good spot to overcome the Aggies once again. The last time the teams faced off, UNC got the better of NMSU, winning the dual 167-131 in Las Cruces, marking their third straight dual victory.
Friday's dual is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. MT and will be the first of three consecutive home duals for the team. Admission to Butler-Hancock Pool is free.
