Wrestling concludes 2021 season Friday

Northern Colorado wrestling finished its season at the NCAA Championships
ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The 2021 Northern Colorado wrestling season came to an end Friday afternoon as the Bears final two wrestlers bowed out of the NCAA Championships. Alan Clothier (184) and Jackson Hemauer (174) each lost in the second consolation round of 16.
Hemauer finished his year at 10-4 overall after No. 14 Hayden Hastings of Wyoming defeated him by decision 8-1. Hemauer took second place for the 174-pound bracket at the Big 12 Championships to qualify for his second NCAA Championships.
Clothier's season ended with a 10-1 major decision against No. 16 Max Lyon of Purdue. He ended up going 10-5 on the season and qualified for the NCAA Championships for the second straight season by taking fourth place at the Big 12 Championships.
Overall head coach Troy Nickerson and the Bears continue to head in the upward direction. UNC earned its first NWCA Top 25 ranking in 51 years, earned its best team finish at the Big 12 Championships and had four NCAA Championship qualifiers.
