Bears Earn Early Holiday Treat Defeating Northern New Mexico

UNC men's basketball beat Northern New Mexico 90-54 on Tuesday night
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado men's basketball unwrapped an early holiday present on Tuesday night with a 90-54 win over Northern New Mexico.
The Bears left no doubt in the game jumping out to a quick 10-2 lead and never looking back. UNC led the whole game.
Dru Kuxhausen started fast making three of his first four attempts from behind the arc for a quick nine points. He finished the night tied for the team lead with 15 points. All of them came from downtown. Matt Johnson II joined Kuxhausen with 15 of his own.
Northern Colorado cashed in 20 threes inside Bank of Colorado Arena on the way to the win. Three off the program's record for a game.
The Bears led by as much as 44 on the way to the win.

While 20 made three-pointers stand out on the stat sheet it was good ball movement all night that led to easy shots. UNC had 19 assists on the night. It was one shy of the team's season-high. Matt Johnson II led the team with four.
Game Notes
- Five different Bears finished the night in double-figures scoring. Kuxhausen and Johnson II led the team with 15 each while Zach Bloch (11), Bodie Hume (10) and Bryce Kennedy (10) joined them.
- Zach Bloch had a career-high 11 points and three assists while playing a career-best 27 minutes on Tuesday.
- Freshman Trent Hudgens Jr finished the night with career-highs in points (8), rebounds (7) and assists (3).
- Bryce Kennedy dished out a career-best three assists to go with his 10 points and four rebounds.
- Seven different Bears made a three-pointer on the night, all making at least two.
- UNC outrebounded NNMC 47-28.
