UNC Men's Basketball signed Brock Wisne and Langston Reynolds.
GREELEY, Colo. – Steve Smiley and the Northern Colorado Men's Basketball staff is building a fence around the state with the signing two of the top three prospects in the state in guard Langston Reynolds and forward Brock Wisne.
Langston Reynolds | 6-4 | 205 | Guard | Denver, Colo.
Colorado-born and raised, the Prep Hoops No. 2 rated player in the state of Colorado, Langston Reynolds, is staying home to play for Northern Colorado Men's Basketball. The 6-4 Denver guard signed to join Steve Smiley and the UNC program on Wednesday.
"We're thrilled to have Langston joining our program in the near future. Langston is a really talented player, that much is obvious, but what really sets him apart from most players his age is his energy and infectious personality. Langston is the type of kid that lights up the room the minute he walks into it. On the court, Langston is a multi-positional player that can not only play a variety of positions offensively on and off the ball, but because of his size, strength and athleticism, he should be an elite weapon on defense from day one," said head coach Steve Smiley.
"Langston has been extremely well-coached throughout his high school days, starting with playing for Colorado coaching legend Rudy Carey at Denver East High School and finishing his last two years on the Grind Session at Colorado Prep for Coach Xavier Silas. Langston played on an elite AAU circuit as well with the Utah Prospects on the Adidas 3SSB Gauntlet Circuit, which will really help his transition to Division 1 basketball. Our goal is to always target top in-state talent to stay home, and we're beyond excited that Langston has committed to becoming a Bear!"
While at Denver East High School, Langston was the Denver Prep Freshman of the Year and All-Conference selection as a sophomore.
Langston has been selected to the Grind Session All-Star game while playing for Colorado Prep and selected the game MVP over 10 times.
Northern Colorado earned Langston's commitment over South Dakota, UTEP, Montana State, Montana, San Diego State and Oral Roberts among many other schools.
Brock Wisne | 6-8 | 220 | Forward | Thornton, Colo.
The 6-8 Thornton, Colorado native joins the Bears' recruiting class as the No. 3 ranked player in the state after spending two years at Colorado Prep.
"Brock is a player that we've recruited for a really long time, and it's been tremendous to watch his progress and development over the past several years. Brock is a bigger forward that can play both on the perimeter and in the post, and because of his size, strength, and most importantly his unique skill set, he's going to be a matchup problem for defenders the minute he steps on campus," head coach Steve Smiley said.
"Initially from Horizon High School and currently at Colorado Prep the past two seasons playing for Coach Xavier Silas. Brock's high school experience and his time both playing locally and in the Grind Session have prepared him to transition smoothly to compete at this level. Brock has also been fortunate to play multiple positions recently for both Colorado Prep and for his AAU program, Colorado Roughriders Give, and for him to be able to play so many positions offensively on the perimeter and in the post will really help him transition to our level. What we like most about Brock, however, is that he's a winner on and off the court, and he represents everything that we want in a Bear to represent our program. We're thrilled that Brock has decided to stay home and play collegiately for the Bears!"
Before attending Colorado Prep, Wisne was a first team All-Conference player at Horizon High School as a sophomore and second team as a freshman.
Wisne chose Northern Colorado over Cleveland State while receiving interest from Mountain West, Big Sky and Summit League schools.
What others say about Langston and Brock
"I honestly think UNC did an amazing job stealing Langston and Brock. Both players had real high major interest, were being recruited by power 5 schools and were set on going "bigger". Langston will bring infectious energy and mindset. Brock is a versatile talent that will be a serious matchup problem in that conference. I'm proud of them but even more excited to see the Bears for years to come."
