Swim and Dive to host Idaho in WAC dual on Saturday

 GREELEY, Colo. - UNC Swim and Dive is back home after a week off and looking to add another WAC dual to its list of wins this season as they compete against Idaho on Saturday at Butler Hancock Pool.

The Bears prepare to face the Vandals coming off an impressive performance against New Mexico State two weeks ago, where they won 167-131. Katelyn Bergin headlined the UNC victory, earning WAC Swimmer of the week for her performances in the 100 back, 100 fly and 200 IM. Not to mention a big swim in the 200 medley relay.

While veterans Anna Austin and Madelyn Moore did their thing, freshmen Giulia Pavanello, Hannah Kingscote and Bryanna Ungs rose to the occaision as the shorthanded Bears knocked off the Aggies.

Thanks to its strong start to the 2021-22 season, Northern Colorado has managed to stay inside the top-15 in College Swimming's Mid-Major rankings. The Bears enter the weekend ranked 12th and have found a home inside the top-25 since earning its ranking in January.

The last time UNC and Idaho matched up in 2019, the Vandals came out on top. However, the rested and ready Bears will take its WAC rival, who are coming off of a 121-166 loss to Washington State.

The meet will be held at Butler Hancock pool and will start at 10 a.m. MT. Admission is free.
