UNC Athletics Again Shows High APR Scores

UNC Athletics once again rated highly in the NCAA APR report
INDIANAPOLIS – Northern Colorado Athletics continues to hold its student-athletes to a high standard academically with the release of the latest Academic Progress Rates (APR) by the NCAA on Tuesday. Last week three programs made the NCAA top 10 percent in APR rating for their sport in men's and women's cross country and women's golf. That tied for the lead in the Big Sky.
Six programs improved their multiyear score in the full report released on Tuesday. Men's basketball had the largest increase with a nine-point jump. Joining the men's hoops program was football (8), baseball (5), men's track and field (5), wrestling (3) and women's track and field (2).
For the 2018-19 season, six programs had a perfect APR score. Men's basketball, men's cross country, men's tennis, women's cross country, women's golf and volleyball were the programs. On the year by year basis, baseball, men's golf and softball saw an increase from last the preview year. The baseball program improved by 26 points, men's golf by 14 and softball by one.
The APR report is in its 15th year. It provides a real-time look at a team's academic success. The APR includes eligibility, retention and graduation in its calculation to provide a picture of the academic culture of each sport.
