Swim and Dive Out to a Strong Start at WAC Championships

UNC's 200 medley relay qualifies for National Invitational Chamionship
HOUSTON – Northern Colorado got out to a strong start at the WAC Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday. The team made the NICA cut for the 200 medley relay and picked up a top eight finish in the 1 meter dive.
Sophomore Maddy Moore got UNC's 200 medley team off to a fast start with a backstroke time of 25.32 and the Bears finished the race in 1:42.11. Maria Heymans, Doris Pusztay and Emily Hamel joined Moore on the relay.
Freshman diver Tori Sayers showed no signs of nerves on Wednesday taking eighth place in the 1 meter. She scored a 214.55 in the finals after a 237.50 during the prelims Wednesday morning.
The 800 free relay also took place on Wednesday with the team of Petra Kis, Hallie Peterson, Anna Austin and AJ Popp taking fifth place with a time of 7:33.81.

Thursday's schedule features the 50 and 500 free along with the 200 IM and 200 freestyle relay along with the 3 meter diving.
