Bears Sharp Shoot Past Bengals

UNC men's basketball defeated Idaho State 83-67 Thursday night
GREELEY – It was a complete team performance as Northern Colorado defeated Idaho State at home Thursday night 83-67. Seven of the eight Bears to play scored on the night and four finished in double figures.
The win moves UNC to 13-7 on the year and 6-3 in Big Sky play. They are a half-game behind Eastern Washington for first place in the Big Sky.
Northern Colorado's offense was clicking all night long as they shot 53.7 percent from the field and drained 14 threes.
Trent Harris made half of the team's threes with seven on his way to 21 points. Only Jonah Radebaugh scored more points for the Bears with his 22. Radebaugh shot an impressive 8-for-13 from the field and added in seven rebounds, four assists and a steal.
A back and forth game early on, Rodrick McCobb broke it open with a personal 8-0 run to put the Bears up by 10 with a little under nine minutes left in the half.
UNC led the rest of the half by double digits and went into the locker room up 40-29.
Idaho State cut Northern Colorado's lead to five a pair of times. Both times UNC responded extending it to double figures with a 5-0 and 6-2 run allowing the team to stay in cruise control throughout the second half.

Northern Colorado recorded its second-best shooting night of the 2019-20 season on Thursday with their 53.7 percent shooting. The Bears went 29-for-54 for the game and 14-of-30 from behind the arc.

- Rodrick McCobb was a huge spark off the bench for UNC on Thursday. He scored a career-best 11 points shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. His sharpshooting drew in the defense allowing him to have a career-high four assists as well.
- Five different Bears made a three-pointer in the game and three made multiple. Harris led the team with his seven while McCobb went 3-for-3 and Radebaugh 2-for-2.
- For the second straight game, UNC matched its team season-high in blocks with five. Bodie Hume led the team with three.
Around the Big Sky
Northern Colorado is now in a tie for second place in the Big Sky with Montana. Weber State went into Southern Utah and won 75-65 and Montana lost at Portland State 88-81 in the two other conference games Thursday.

Northern Colorado concludes its four games in eight days stretch when Weber State comes to Bank of Colorado Arena on Saturday at 7 pm.
