It was one of the best seasons in Northern Colorado basketball history and the Big Sky honored it as such. Jordan Davis, who had a history making season of his own, was named as the Men's Player of the Year. In addition, he was voted as the only unanimous member of the First Team.
Davis led the conference in scoring at 23.8 points per game and was in the top-10 in the nation in scoring all season. He added 4.6 rebounds and assists.
Davis is the first men's player of the year since Devon Beitzel in 2010-11.
The awards didn't stop there. After becoming the first Big Sky coach to ever win a national postseason tournament last season, Jeff Linder followed that up by notching a new program record for BSC wins, 15, and was named the conferences coach of the year.
For the second time in his three seasons as a Bear, Jonah Radebaugh was named as the best defensive player in the conference. The junior from Thornton, Colo. also was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. Radebaugh averaged 9.6 points per game and added 6.1 boards and a steal a game.
Bodie Hume came to UNC as one of the most decorated recruits in program history and his first year on campus he added to that collection. The first-year player from Sterling, Colo. was named Big Sky Freshman of the year. Hume averaged 10.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
Since the conference started awarding the defensive player of they year award in 2001-02, this is just the third time a team has claimed the player, coach, defensive and freshman of the year awards in one season.
UNC is the No. 2 seed in the My Place Big Sky Championships and will start play Thursday against the winner of Southern Utah and Idaho State.
