Alisha Davis filled up the stat sheet against Wyoming and was named the top Big Sky player of the week
After protecting the rim for the Bears in the team's 46-44 win over Wyoming, Alisha Davis was named the College Sports Madness, Big Sky Player of the Week. Every week, College Sports Madness selects players who have had the greatest impact on their team from each conference and on a national basis.
Davis put together another stand-out game in the UNC's road win over the Cowgirls. Davis, making her first career start, had a game high 14 points on 7-of-15 shooting in the Bears 46-44 victory. Davis played 36 minutes in the win on Sunday.
For the second time in her young career, Davis recorded five blocks, tying for the third most in a single game in DI program history. Davis also nearly had her third career double-double, finishing with nine rebounds, including four offensive boards.
UNC had one of its best defensive performances of the season, with Davis making significant contributions. Wyoming was limited to their second lowest point total of the season. With Davis helping to defend the paint, the Cowgirls had a season-low, 29.5 shooting percentage, including 15 percent from three-point range.
