@UNCOSwim_Dive defeats Idaho on Senior Day

Northern Colorado swim and dive earned its fourth WAC win of the season over Idaho
In their final home meet of the year, Northern Colorado swim and dive sent their five seniors out on a high note with a 182-118 win over Idaho. The Bears jumped out to the quick lead in the meet winning six of the first seven events and taking first place in 12 of the 16.
Of those first seven events, Northern Colorado took the top three spots in both the 200 Butterfly and 50 Free.
A pair of Bears won two events in Hallie Peterson and Maddy Moore. Peterson took the top spot in the 200 Fly and 200 IM with times of 2:09.25 and 2:13.17, respectively. Meanwhile, Moore won the 100 Back and 100 Free. She took the backstroke with a time of 58.15 and the freestyle in 52.81.
Moore was also on the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay team that both won. She was joined by Leilani Herrara, Morgan King and Emily Hamel on the 200 Medley, touching the wall in 1:46.16. The winning 400 Free team was Moore, Morgan King, Nicole Depooter and Rose Saya. The quartet finished it in 3:35.41.
Six other Bears earned individual wins in the meet. Holli Johnson won the 1000 Free (10:40.46), Leilani Herrera in the 100 Breast (1:05.48), Emily Hamel the 50 Free (24.52), the 200 Back from Petra Kis (2:06.86), Rose Saya in the 500 Free (5:14.71) and Morgan King won the 100 Fly with a time of 58.05.
On the diving boards, Celeste Llona took third place in the 1 meter with a 259.05, just 0.35 points away from second place. Allyson Wood performed the best for UNC in the 3 meter with a score of 253.50 to place fourth.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado has one more meet before the WAC Championships when they stay in-state to go against Colorado State on February 1 at 4 pm in Fort Collins.
The WAC Championships are in Houston, Texas once again this year over February 27 – March 2.
