DAY 4 MEET RESULTSÂ |Â FULL MEET RESULTS
HOUSTON -Â Northern Colorado held firm to its fifth place standing to conclude the WAC Championship meet, but it was a huge step forward for the program as the Bears improved two places from last year and scored 384 points compared to 277.5 last year. Saturday saw UNC bring home another WAC title and pile up three more school records to finish off an exciting meet for the program. Petra Kis' two titles and one second place finish earned her the title of WAC freshman of the year.
The third UNC WAC title of the meet was recorded by another freshman. Holli Johnson paced the field in the 1650 free in school record time of 16:33.35. Senior Sydney Kovar came in sixth in the event in 16:57.62.
The second school record of the day was turned in by freshman Ioanna Sacha in the 200 back with a time of 1:56.78. Sacha came in second in the event, missing becoming the third different UNC freshman to win a WAC title this weekend by a mere .6 seconds.
Freshman Petra Kis concluded an outstanding meet with a second place finish in the 200 fly in 2:01.28 and she was also a part of a new school record in the 400 free relay with Valeria Mihhailova, Jessica Sanford and Emily Hamel recording a time of 3:26.01 and a sixth place finish.
Senior Valeria Mihhailova was the top UNC finisher in the 100 free as she took ninth by touching the wall in 51.54. Fellow senior Courtney Chrzas was seventh in the 200 breast finishing in 2:20.79.

In Their Words:
Lisa Ebeling, Head Coach
"I absolutely could not be more proud of the way our team fought back after a disappointing first night. We are walking away with 6 school records, 7 medals, 7 more top 8 finishes, 4 NCAA B cuts, 39 lifetime best times and over 100 points more than we scored last year. This was a huge step forward for our program and I'm honored to be a part of it!"
What's Ahead?
This concludes the regular season. Next up is the NCAA Championships which will take place March 15-17 in Columbus, Ohio. Keep up to date on all things UNC swimming and diving at uncbears.com and follow the team on Twitter @UNCO_SwimDive.
