Video Coordinator Charles Named CSVA Billy V Scholarship Recipient

Football's video coordinator Brandon Charles was awarded the Billy V Scholarship.
Football video coordinator, Brandon Charles was awarded the ninth annual Billy Vizzini Conference Scholarship by the Collegiate Sports Video Association.
The CSVA Executive Board scholarship criteria is the submission of a resume and an essay that explains the circumstances for the need of the scholarship and why he or she is the most deserving candidate. The scholarships will provide hotel stay and travel for the 2016 CSVA conference in Cincinnati, Ohio this May 9-12.
The scholarship is named after Billy Vizzini, A 1993 graduate of Florida State University, Vizzini was a member of the coaches' video staff since 1994 and headed the department since 1997. With his research and knowledge, Vizzini brought Florida State athletics to the cutting edge in terms of providing the Seminoles with the most advanced and sophisticated systems in the country. Vizzini's life was cut short, dying at the age of 36 after a battle with cancer.Â
ABOUT THE CSVA:
The Collegiate Sports Video Association is dedicated to serving its members and providing a place for dialogue and development within the profession. The CSVA will be a forum to:evaluate professional standards among all Video Coordinators
facilitate the exchange of information and technological innovations
advance ethical procedures and quality techniques
raise the awareness of the role that Video Coordinators play within the athletic environmentThe CSVA is continuing its efforts to heighten its Active and Business membership. Currently, CSVA's membership and recruitment efforts are focused on collegiate and high school athletic Video Coordinators.
The future for the CSVA's membership is limitless. While most of the current collegiate membership represent Video Departments which cater to mainly the institution's football or basketball programs, all areas of the collegiate field of communications are being targeted by the CSVA. Full-time, part-time, and students are welcomed and encouraged to join the association.
