Savannah Scott's stellar performance last week earned her CSM Big Sky Player of the Week
GREELEY, Colo.—College Sports Madness announced its weekly award winners for women's basketball on Tuesday, and UNC's sophomore guard Savannah Scott earned the Big Sky Player of the Week Award from them. Scott earned the honor while averaging 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in two games played.
She helped the Bears go 2-0 at the USD-Courtyard San Diego Central Classic defeating Akron (78-65) and Valparaiso (77-63), improving their record to 4-2 on the year.
In both games she set a new career high scoring first with 16 points against Akron, and then resetting it the next day with 21 versus Valparaiso. She also led the team is rebounding with six against the Zips. In her 21 point outing against the Crusaders, Scott was nearly perfect shooting on the night going 6-for-7 from the field, including 4-of-4 from downtown. She added in a 5-for-5 performance from the foul line as well.
Scott and the rest of the Bears are back in action, Tuesday night against Utah Valley inside Bank of Colorado Arena at 7:00 p.m.
